Dedications to Rob from Max Creek ....

" From Max Creek: This Friday night at the Garden of Eden Festival in Greenfield , MA , we in Max Creek will dedicate our portion of the show to Rob Fried. We will perform songs he was so prevalent on in his percussion playing, and songs that we feel reflect our feelings and thoughts about our 27 years with him in the Max Creek Family. Immediately following our performance we will have a candlelight memorial, after which there will be a drum circle in his honor and memory. There will also be a memorial church service in celebration of his life on Sunday, September 24, at 3:00 in the afternoon, at First Church of Christ, 689 Hopmeadow St. in Simsbury , CT. This is a large white colonial church on Route 10, near the center of town. The public is invited. Afterward there will be a gathering just down the street at the Maple Tree Restaurant, where Rob spent much time performing. There, we will get together to remember Rob with conversation and music, which was the way he loved to spend his time with his friends. This was his wish of how we would memorialize him. At all events we will be collecting donations for a scholarship fund, which will be established in his name. This will be used to help with music instruction for kids who otherwise might not be able to afford it. Please donate at the Wormtown booth this weekend, at the Maple Tree on the 24th, or speak with Mark Mercier at any time. As we move on, let us in some way use his memory to help us live our lives as better human beings."  09-13-2006, 09:27:48 AM
